Becoming A Homestay Student
International Student Care Australia (ISCA) successfully works with a number of private schools, and Tertiary institutions throughout Brisbane to ensure a safe and caring environment where students can successfully pursue their academic careers and personal development.
Our host families have been carefully selected and offer students more than just a room. Our hosts welcome students into their homes making sure they feel not only safe and comfortable but also cared for as part of their family. Our students can expect to enjoy a supportive, friendly home while adjusting to Australian culture and the community they will be living in.
ISCA specialises in accommodating under 18 year old students with quality host families.
All hosts and their family members, who are over 18 years of age, undergo national criminal background checks. ISCA interviews the host family in their home and complete home inspections. We stay in contact with both the school, the host and the student during the homestay period.
ISCA co-ordinates the selection of host families with international students offering a 24/7 critical incident service, initial introduction and transfer service to your new host family, and a close working relationship with their schools.
How Our Homestay Program Works
ISCA will match each student with a host family located no more than 50 minutes from the student’s place of education. The host family will provide the student with a private bedroom, three meals a day and snacks, and will assist the student in learning the local customs and transportation systems, as well as generally helping the student become acquainted with the Australian way of life. Students are encouraged to share information about their home cultures and countries, as our host families also wish to have a unique cultural experience.
We want all international students to have a positive, enjoyable experience whilst studying in Australia.
